Wynn Las Vegas’ latest future-book odds for the 2012 Kentucky Derby are out. And Champagne winner Union Rags is the current 15-1 favorite. Trainer Michael Matz, who won today’s JP Morgan Chase Jessamine Stakes at Keeneland with his sister-in-law’s Somali Lemonade, said Union Rags likely will train at his Fair Hill training center base and ship to Churchill Downs after his final work. Union Rags was stuck in traffic much of the race in the Champagne before jockey Javier Castellano finally could get him clear in the stretch, after which he won by more than 5 lengths. Union Rags is owned by Phyllis Wyeth, whose husband Jamie is the third generation of famous Wyeth painters.
